John directs the Office of Gift Planning and works with individual donors. He received a bachelor’s degree from Yale and a master’s degree from University of Delaware and joined the UMD Office of Gift Planning in December 2001.


Patricia G. Wang

Patty manages bequest administration for all planned gifts benefitting university programs and has been with the University of Maryland since 1986. She is also the current president of the National Capital Gift Planning Council, the Washington DC regional council of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from the California State University Los Angeles.


Cheryl K. Harrison

Cheryl Harrison joined the Office of Gift Planning staff in March 2013, after serving as a part of the Athletics Department staff for over 17 years.  As a front-line fund raiser on the Gift Planning staff, she is responsible for engaging alumni and friends to include the University in their estate plans, working collaboratively with campus development officers, specifically those in the Clark School of Engineering; the College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences; and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.  Harrison, a native of Baltimore, graduated from Winston-Salem State University (NC) with a degree in business administration and a concentration in information systems.

Chris is a proud 2007 graduate of the University of Maryland.  He has worked for Maryland in the Department of University Relations since 2010 and currently works in the Office of Gift Planning as an Assistant Director.

Yvonne manages the business affairs of the Office of Gift Planning. She joined the university in 2013 with more than 20 years of administrative experience.
